On Saturday, March 22, former Arcata High School standout Merek Sears’ current college team, the UT Arlington Mavericks, lost 1-0 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Sacramento State Hornets.

The game took place at John Smith Field. This was their second matchup against the Hornets this season.

The Mavericks’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, March 23 at 1 p.m. at John Smith Field against Sacramento State Hornets.
