On November 2, at approximately 6 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted by citizens to the discovery of a deceased body at a power plant in Blue Lake on Taylor Way.

Deputies arrived at the location and began an investigation in collaboration with the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office. Preliminary findings suggest that the death might have been caused by accidental electrocution.

The Coroner’s Office is currently working to identify the individual due to the condition and decomposition of the body. Anyone who may have information about the identity of this deceased male is urged to contact the Coroner’s Office at (707) 445-7242.

The investigation remains ongoing.
