Fatal industrial accident claims life of local worker on Highway 36

Deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Patrol Division were called to an industrial accident on May 31 at around 5:53 a.m. The incident occurred in the 13000 block of Highway 36, Carlotta, and involved debris falling from an active landslide. This resulted in a fatality.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Division was also present at the scene. After notifying the next of kin, they identified the deceased as Rodrigo Reyna-Sanchez, aged 58. Mr. Reyna-Sanchez was employed by a local contractor.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office expressed its condolences to Mr. Reyna-Sanchez’s family and loved ones during this challenging period.
