Hoopa Valley police arrest local resident on drug and felony warrant charges

On April 17, officers from the Hoopa Valley Tribal Police and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office were on patrol in the Hoopa Valley. Around 10:45 p.m., they conducted a vehicle investigation on Highway 96 near Loop Road and encountered Darin Byron Marshall Jr., a 41-year-old resident of Hoopa. During the investigation, officers discovered Marshall had a felony arrest warrant.

Marshall was arrested for the warrant, and his vehicle was searched. Officers found several items of drug paraphernalia and approximately 7 ounces of suspected heroin.

Marshall was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales under HS 11351 and failure to appear on a felony charge under PC 978.5.
