The Humboldt County Animal Shelter is hosting its 20th Annual Holiday Fundraiser to support local animals in need of emergency medical care. The event will take place on Saturday, December 14, from noon to 4 p.m. at the shelter located at 980 Lycoming Ave, McKinleyville.

Attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments and participate in a raffle and an online silent auction. Raffle tickets are available for purchase in advance at the shelter from December 10-13 during open hours. Ticket prices are $1 for one ticket, $5 for six tickets, and $20 for twenty-four tickets. “Raffle prizes and auction items are viewable online on the Animal Shelter Facebook page.”

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Emergency Medical Fund managed by Friends for Life Animal Rescue. This fund provides lifesaving medical care for rescued animals with serious health issues.

For those unable to attend the event or auction but still wishing to contribute, donations can be made year-round to the Friends for Life Emergency Medical Fund through their website www.dogrescuers.org. Donors should specify “EMF” when submitting their contributions.
