The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services (OES) has released the draft Humboldt County Recovery Annex for public review. The document, available since November 14 on humboldtgov.org/EMplans, is an addition to the county’s Emergency Operations Plan. It aims to guide disaster recovery efforts and support rebuilding after emergencies through collaborative planning.
The annex employs a three-phase recovery strategy standardized by FEMA regions, focusing on short-term, intermediate, and long-term phases. It emphasizes cooperation among local, regional, state, and federal agencies. Additionally, it includes details on recovery programs, emergency proclamations, damage categories, and relevant laws and grants.
Community members are invited to review the draft and submit feedback by December 16 via a public comment form available online. Post-review, OES will incorporate appropriate feedback before presenting the updated annex to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors for approval.
