On December 12, 2024, deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) executed two search warrants. The operation targeted illegal cannabis sales at a smoke and glass shop located in the 2200 block of 4th St. in Eureka and an apartment in the 800 block of Bayside Rd. in Arcata.

The warrants were part of a multi-week investigation into illegal cannabis sales to minors at a retail location that lacked the necessary county permit and state license for commercial cannabis sales. During this operation, it was discovered that a juvenile employed by the business sold illegal cannabis products to an underage decoy.

During the warrant service, deputies confiscated hundreds of illegal cannabis products available for purchase at the business site. No arrests were made during the searches. The investigation remains ongoing, with plans to forward the case to the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office for review.

The public is encouraged to provide any information related to this case or similar criminal activities by contacting the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or through their Crime Tip line at (707) 268-2539.
