Rep. Jared Huffman, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 2nd District since 2013, has actively tweeted about environmental and conservation issues. On April 21, he expressed gratitude for the dedication of National Park Service employees, emphasizing their vital role in maintaining public lands during #NationalParkWeek and committing to safeguarding their employment.

On April 22, Huffman criticized Republican efforts to dismantle environmental protections. He expressed concern over the threat such actions pose to public lands, waters, and wildlife, suggesting they serve the interests of wealthy allies. He advocated for environmental protection, particularly in recognition of #EarthDay.

The next day, on April 23, Huffman highlighted the value of National Marine Sanctuaries, noting their significance for both conservation and coastal economies. He announced a bipartisan effort by relaunching the National Marine Sanctuary Caucus, collaborating with @RepJackBergman in this initiative.

Jared Huffman, 59, born in Independence, Missouri, and residing in San Rafael, holds a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a JD from Boston College. Before Congress, he served in the California State Assembly from 2006 to 2012.
