Rep. Jared Huffman, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 2nd district since 2013, posted several statements on social media this week addressing transparency regarding the Epstein files, climate change policy, and proposed budget cuts to clean energy in California.
On September 3, 2025, Huffman announced his support for a bipartisan effort to release documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. He stated: “I’m joining @RepRoKhanna and @RepThomasMassie’s bipartisan petition to release the Epstein files. The survivors deserve justice, and the American people need full transparency and accountability.”
The following day, Huffman criticized former President Donald Trump’s stance on climate change. On September 4, he wrote: “Trump’s report minimizing climate change is wildly inaccurate and warped to fit his extreme agenda – and leading scientists agree. Climate change is real. It’s dangerous and foolish to deny it. And Democrats will keep fighting to stop this crisis.”
Later that same day, Huffman commented on proposed Republican-led budget cuts in California: “Republicans want to cut over $77 billion from California’s clean energy budget. This change would raise costs for families, derail American energy independence, and curb clean energy efforts.”
Huffman has represented California’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Lynn Woolsey in 2013. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the California State Assembly from 2006 to 2012. Born in Independence, Missouri in 1964 and currently residing in San Rafael, Huffman holds a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara (1986) and a JD from Boston College (1990).
