Rep. Jared Huffman, who represents California’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to address key issues affecting his constituents and reflect on legislative achievements from the past year.
On January 7, 2026, Huffman commented on the anniversary of wildfires that impacted Los Angeles, stating: “It’s been a year since wildfires devastated Los Angeles. I’ve seen firsthand how these disasters ravage our communities and how important federal support is as we rebuild.
We need to invest in preventing and minimizing wildfires – not denying climate change and defunding https://t.co/x9UdLaReiI“.
Later that day, Huffman acknowledged his ongoing role in Congress with a message to constituents: “It’s an honor and a privilege to represent the North Coast in Congress. 2026 is already off to the races – but I’d like to share a look back at what we accomplished last year. Check out our 2025 wrap-up here: https://t.co/A76BqjO1MS”.
On January 8, he addressed concerns about healthcare costs and legislative efforts related to the Affordable Care Act: “Living in America is already expensive enough, and people like my constituent Corrie cannot afford higher health care premiums.
House Democrats have been fighting for months to save the Affordable Care Act tax credits, and today we’re finally voting to make that happen. https://t.co/ESb8fM2eIS“.
Jared Huffman has represented California’s 2nd District in Congress since 2013 after succeeding Lynn Woolsey. He previously served in the California State Assembly from 2006 to 2012.
