On Tuesday, April 8, former Arcata High School standout Merek Sears’ current college team, the UT Arlington Mavericks, won 5-4 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the TCU Horned Frogs.

The game took place at Clay Gould Ballpark. This was their first matchup against the Horned Frogs this season.

The Mavericks’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 11 at 6 p.m. at Tarleton Baseball Complex against Tarleton State Texans.
