On Tuesday, March 18, former Arcata High School standout Merek Sears’ current college team, the UT Arlington Mavericks, lost 7-6 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Oklahoma Sooners.
The game took place at L. Dale Mitchell Park. This was their first matchup against the Sooners this season.
The Mavericks’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 21 at 4 p.m. at John Smith Field against Sacramento State Hornets.
