Rep. Jared Huffman, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 2nd district since 2013, criticized recent political developments and figures in a series of posts on September 19, 2025.

In one post, Huffman addressed Robert F. Kennedy Jr., writing, “RFK Jr. is taking our country back decades, and it’s going to cost lives. He is grossly unqualified and should never have been confirmed in the first place. This science-denying conspiracy theorist needs to resign before we have another self-induced public health crisis on our https://t.co/Rj9WFDjLUQ” (September 19, 2025).

On the same day, Huffman commented on the looming threat of a government shutdown: (1/2) We’re 11 days away from a government shutdown, and Republicans just jammed through a partisan funding bill that will never pass the Senate – and then sent all of us home. He followed up with another statement: (2/2) Democrats are ready to support a budget that lowers costs and protects Americans’ health care, but the GOP refuses to negotiate. Republicans have total control of the government. If there’s a shutdown, they’re responsible. https://t.co/VUN6m95gGa (September 19, 2025).

Jared Huffman has represented California’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Lynn Woolsey in 2013 after serving in the California State Assembly from 2006 to 2012. Born in Independence, Missouri in 1964 and currently residing in San Rafael at age 59, Huffman graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in 1986 and earned his JD from Boston College in 1990.
