Robbery investigation leads to arrest; two suspects still wanted

On April 13, 2024, deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) responded to a robbery and attempted homicide incident in Fortuna. The victim was robbed at gunpoint, shot in the shoulder, and severely assaulted, resulting in serious injuries.

Over several months, HCSO investigators and agents from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) have been investigating this case. They followed leads with help from community members and evidence gathered at the scene. Three suspects have been identified, and one arrest has been made.

Jackson Parrott, 44, of Scotia, is in custody on charges of attempted murder, mayhem, and robbery. He is held at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Felony arrest warrants are issued for Michael Cady, 34, of McKinleyville, and Christopher Overholt, 42, of Loleta. They face charges including attempted murder (PC 664/187), mayhem (PC 203), robbery (PC 211), burglary (PC 459), and conspiracy to commit a crime (PC 182(a)(1)).

Authorities urge anyone with information on Cady or Overholt’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.
