The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is seeking public assistance in locating Dylan Stout, a 25-year-old from McKinleyville. Stout was last observed in the Kneeland area on September 27 at approximately 2:50 p.m. by an HCSO deputy during a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle that he was believed to be driving.
Stout’s family reported him missing on October 2, indicating he had not been seen since before the incident with the stolen vehicle on September 27. During that event, following a pursuit by HCSO deputies, the vehicle crashed through a closed metal gate and then into a bank, overturning onto its roof. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, no occupants were found in the vehicle. Despite a search effort including a specialized K-9 unit, Stout was not located and has remained missing since.
As of October 2, Stout is officially considered missing after his family’s report. A search operation is underway in the Kneeland area utilizing resources such as a California Highway Patrol helicopter, HCSO Search and Rescue teams, ATVs, and drones.
Dylan Stout is described as being 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds with blue eyes and red hair. He was last seen wearing what might have been a black sports jersey.
