On June 25, 2025, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting incident on Hookton Cemetery Road in Loleta. Reports indicated that a 27-year-old male suspect caused a disturbance at his father’s residence before firing shots into the home and forcing entry.

Upon arrival, deputies found a 52-year-old male victim with three gunshot wounds. The victim was conscious and taken to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect was not present at the scene.

Later, around 9:46 p.m., the suspect sought medical care for gunshot wounds at a local hospital. Deputies confirmed his involvement in the incident. Further details will be released following medical clearance and investigative procedures.
