Jared Huffman, a U.S. Congressman from California's 2nd District, has been vocally critical of recent actions purportedly undertaken by Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Over a series of tweets in late March and early April 2025, Huffman addressed various policy changes and their perceived impacts on American society, particularly on vulnerable communities.

In a March 31 post, Huffman criticized Trump and Musk, claiming they are "decimating public lands, defunding Medicaid, and cutting public education funding." He asserted that mental health and addiction services were also at risk, and argued that "it’s our most vulnerable communities who are suffering the brunt of these reckless decisions" (source).

Later that day, Huffman continued his criticism, stating that "Trump and Musk have not done a single thing to lower costs for the American people." Instead, he characterized their actions as contributing to inflation, granting tax breaks to billionaires, and causing economic disruption. Huffman assured that "Democrats refuse to bow down to their illegal, reckless agenda" (source).

On April 1, Huffman commented on a reversal of policy by Trump, labeling a recent decision as a retreat due to unpopularity. He reported that "The Trump administration is delaying its plan to make it harder for seniors to access Social Security," urging action to "defend Social Security from Republican’s ultimate" (source).
