Suspect arrested after copper wire theft investigation in Arcata

On May 1, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) received a report about the theft of industrial copper wire worth tens of thousands of dollars. The theft had been occurring over several weeks before being reported.

An investigation led by an HCSO Community Services Officer identified a suspect. On May 11, deputies executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Warren Creek Road, Arcata. During the search, authorities recovered a substantial quantity of stolen copper wire and tools used in the crime.

Brent John Holdridge, 59, from Arcata, was arrested and taken to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. He was booked on charges including “Burglary—PC 459,” “Grand Theft—PC 487(a),” and “Possession of Stolen Property—PC 496(a).”

The HCSO commended its personnel for their efforts in resolving this case and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the community from property crimes.
