Freshwater Elementary School District’s schools enrolled 313 students in the 2023-24 school year, 2% more than the previous year, according to the California Department of Education.
Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 53.3% of them were girls, and 46.7% were boys.
Data also showed that most of the students were white, making up 70.6% of the Freshwater Elementary School District’s total enrollment.
Freshwater Elementary School District covers two schools within Humboldt County with its main office in Eureka.
Among the two schools in Freshwater Elementary School District, Freshwater Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 265 students in the 2023-24 school year.
Although chronic absenteeism in California decreased in 2023, it remains double the pre-pandemic rate. According to the Public Policy Institute of California, chronic absenteeism in the state public schools reached 25% in 2023, up from 12% in 2019.
