On November 16, around 9 a.m., deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of fencing theft on Central Avenue in McKinleyville. A citizen had observed a male and female removing fencing from private property and loading it into a tan pickup truck. Security footage from a nearby residence supported this account.

Deputies arrived at the scene and confirmed with the victim that the value of the stolen property exceeded $950, classifying it as felony theft. An investigative report was filed based on these findings.

Following up on evidence and witness statements, deputies searched several locations in McKinleyville. They eventually found the suspects' vehicle at a private residence. The individuals seen in the video were apprehended without incident, and the stolen fencing was returned to its owner.

The suspects, Aaron Gamble and Lindsey Kauffman, both 39 years old from McKinleyville, were arrested and booked into Humboldt County Correctional Facility by 12:15 p.m. on November 16. They face charges of Grand Theft (PC487(a)) and Conspiracy to Commit Crime (PC182(a)(1)). Additionally, Kauffman faces a charge for Probation Violation (PC 1203.2(a)(2)).

The investigation is ongoing.
