Jared Huffman, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 2nd district since 2013, shared updates on his recent activities and legislative efforts through social media posts. The congressman has been actively involved in the House Natural Resources Committee and is now set to lead it in the next congressional session.
On December 11, 2024, Huffman expressed gratitude for the support he received from fellow legislators on the House Natural Resources Committee. He stated, "It’s been a privilege to work alongside so many fantastic legislators on the House Natural Resources Committee during my time in Congress, and I’m grateful they want to entrust me with leading the committee next Congress."
In another post made later that day, Huffman emphasized the need for greater involvement of tribes in federal projects. He wrote, "It’s time for the federal govt to do more than just ‘consult’ impacted tribes when projects are developed; tribes should be at the table from start to finish, with an opportunity to meaningfully share in the economic benefits of clean energy."
Additionally, Huffman introduced new draft legislation known as the RESTORE Act. He invited public feedback on this initiative by stating, "My new draft legislation, the RESTORE Act, is intended to reflect that vision -- and I look forward to gathering feedback to improve our ideas in future iterations." He encouraged constituents to visit his website for further details and input.
