Between December 28 and 29, Humboldt County Sheriff's deputies responded to multiple shooting incidents along roadways in the county.

On December 28 at approximately 12:30 a.m., an altercation between two individuals inside Toni's 24-Hour Restaurant in Arcata escalated as they traveled northbound on Highway 101. Shots were fired during this incident, and shell casings were later found on Central Avenue and Henry Lane in McKinleyville.

Later that day, around 11 p.m., suspects fired at a victim's vehicle while both vehicles were driving on Highway 96 in Hoopa. This followed a physical altercation involving several adult males near the Hoopa Modular Building. A 23-year-old male sustained non-life-threatening suspected gunshot wounds to the chest and side area and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Gage Thunderhawk Marshall, aged 28 from Hoopa, was arrested and booked at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for an outstanding warrant for battery with serious bodily injury (PC 243(d)). Ginuh Lincoln, aged 40 from Hoopa, was also arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon.

On December 29 at about 7:15 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a possible drive-by shooting near Railroad Drive and Walnut Avenue in McKinleyville. Witnesses described seeing shots fired from a dark blue or green SUV. Ten bullet casings were discovered on Walnut Avenue near the Railroad Road intersection. No injuries have been reported.

Investigators are exploring potential connections between these incidents based on details gathered so far. Some witnesses have been reluctant to provide information regarding these events, but investigators are following up on leads.

These cases remain under investigation.
