Jared Huffman, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 2nd district since 2013, has taken to social media to express his concerns over recent political actions. Huffman, who succeeded Lynn Woolsey and previously served in the California State Assembly, voiced his criticisms through a series of tweets addressing various issues involving former President Donald Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk.

On February 3, 2025, Huffman commented on Trump's implementation of a tariff on Canadian goods. He stated that "Trump's 25% tariff on Canadian goods is in effect, and folks will bear the brunt at the grocery store, gas pump, & beyond." Huffman criticized Trump's promise to lower prices, asserting that instead of fulfilling this promise, Trump is causing financial strain for Americans.

The following day, February 4, 2025, Huffman addressed another issue concerning Trump. He claimed that "Once again, Donald Trump is lying and appears to have no interest in telling the truth about CA water." He referenced photographs from a previous visit to a solar project funded by the Inflation Reduction Act and confirmed details with former Reclamation officials.

Later on February 4th, Huffman shifted focus to Elon Musk's alleged actions regarding USAID. In his tweet he stated: "USAID not only saves millions of lives every year but it also protects global health and employs thousands of Americans." He accused Musk of illegally shutting down USAID operations and criticized Trump for prioritizing billionaire interests over American welfare.
