In a recent incident in McKinleyville, a burglary suspect was apprehended by the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office following a daring break-in. The arrest was made after a resident living on Noble Ct. reported hearing someone breaking into her house in the early hours of the morning.
According to reports, the victim woke up to noises and noticed the power in her house had been shut off. She then witnessed a person dressed in black entering her garage before fleeing to a neighbor's house. Deputies responding to the scene quickly located a male matching the suspect's description on Heartwood Drive.
After a brief foot pursuit and struggle, the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Stephen Gabriel Alvarez, was taken into custody. Alvarez was subsequently booked for First Degree Burglary and Obstructing/Resisting a Peace Officer at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
