Authorities in Humboldt County have arrested a man following a domestic violence incident in Westhaven. The incident took place on April 8, 2024, when deputies responded to a report at Clam Beach Road in McKinleyville. The female victim, who had visible injuries to her face, identified the suspect as Bobby Lee Ganfield, someone she was in a dating relationship with.
After the assault, the victim managed to escape to Clam Beach Road where she sought help from deputies. Ganfield attempted to evade capture by running into a wooded area but was soon located and arrested without further incident by law enforcement officers.
Ganfield has been charged with multiple offenses including Inflict Corporal Injury on Spouse, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Threaten Crime with intent to Terrorize, and Obstructing/Resisting a Public Officer among others. He is currently being held at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
