The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office is seeking public assistance in locating a missing child, Thompson Thompson, aged 4 from Hoopa. The child was reported missing by her legal guardian on October 9 after not being returned from a scheduled visit with her father, Peter Thompson, on October 5.

Peter Thompson is the last known person to have seen the child and only has court-ordered visitation rights without custody. Following the report, an arrest warrant for Peter Thompson was issued on October 9 for Child Abduction (PC 278). That evening, he turned himself in at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and is currently in custody. Despite claiming knowledge of his daughter's whereabouts, he has refused to share this information with law enforcement.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about Thompson's location to contact them. She is described as approximately 50 pounds and 3 feet 7 inches tall, with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a black floral T-shirt, black pants, and cowboy boots.

The Sheriff's Office encourages those with any relevant details to call them at 707-445-7251. Updates can be received by subscribing to news alerts through their website.
