On Monday, Sept. 30 at about 9 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Fairway Market on Herrick Ave. in Eureka.
The store owner reported the incident shortly after it occurred, prompting an immediate response from deputies in the area. According to the store owner, a person entered the market and pointed a firearm at him. The suspect demanded cash and threatened to shoot if he did not comply. The suspect then fled on foot and was last seen in the area of Carolyn Ct. Deputies arrived on the scene within minutes of the 911 call; however, after an exhaustive search, they were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a white male adult, approximately 6’ tall and weighing between 150-160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black gloves and was carrying a blue canvas bag. If anyone has information about this crime or a potential suspect, they should contact HCSO.
