Through a series of tweets, Huffman criticized policies that he believes undermine social services and financial security for citizens.

On March 18, 2025, Huffman commented on changes to the Social Security Administration's service accessibility. He stated "In Trump’s latest effort to rob our American taxpayers the Social Security Administration announced folks can no longer access SSA services by phone. Seniors and people with disabilities largely rely on these telephone lines – and they’ll be hit the hardest."

Later that day, Huffman addressed budgetary decisions by House Republicans. He remarked "House Republicans’ destructive budget requires deep cuts to Medicaid and slashes health care benefits that Americans rely on every single day. Despite Trump’s promise to not touch Medicaid, here he is – going back on his word and throwing seniors under the bus once again."

The following day, March 19, 2025, Huffman reflected on promises made by Republicans regarding their budget plans. He wrote "Remember when Republicans promised their new budget would help low-income Americans and lower costs? To no one's surprise, they were lying.
