Jared Huffman, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 2nd district since 2013, has been vocal on social media regarding political issues and legislative activities. On March 25, 2025, Huffman addressed a proposal by Republicans to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America as a measure to enhance national security. He criticized this move, suggesting that it distracts from what he perceives as significant breaches in national security by the current administration. "Republicans want to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America to bolster our national security – yet they turn a blind eye when the administration commits real, detrimental breaches to national security."

Later that day, Huffman introduced his new series titled "#TheFlipSide," aimed at contrasting the actions of Republicans and Democrats in Congress during that week. He announced this initiative through his social media platform: "Welcome to my new series, #TheFlipSide, where I’ll be sharing what Republicans vs. Democrats are really doing this week in Congress."

On March 26, 2025, Huffman expressed concern over budget cuts impacting public education in California's 2nd district. He attributed these cuts to decisions made by former President Trump and Elon Musk, highlighting their potential negative effects on educational funding and employment for teachers. "In #CA02 alone, Trump and Musk's cuts to public education are putting nearly $30 million and over 400 teachers at risk." Huffman emphasized the need for high-quality education funded by taxpayers.
