Jared Huffman, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 2nd district, has expressed concerns over recent actions by former President Donald Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk. In a series of tweets, Huffman discusses the impact of these actions on public services and funding.

On March 12, 2025, Huffman criticized the approach taken by Trump and Musk in recent months. He stated: "We should be fighting to help people — not taking a machete to the services we provide them. But Trump and Musk have spent their first few months firing staff, cutting funding, and boarding up offices." Huffman noted that these measures are already negatively affecting small towns and communities.

The following day, March 13, 2025, Huffman voiced his support for a temporary funding measure proposed by House Democrats. He tweeted: "House Democrats stand united for a four-week funding extension that stops harmful cuts, keeps government open, and allows Congress to reach a bipartisan funding agreement." He affirmed his readiness to vote for this extension immediately.

Later on March 13th, Huffman highlighted the potential consequences of Trump's policies on education in California. He stated: "In California alone, the Department of Education supports millions of kids, strengthens thousands of school systems, and provides billions in funding for higher education." He warned that these essential services are under threat from Trump's administration.
